Expository Preaching

Our Objectives

  • To teach the Biblical basis and the benefits of expository preaching.
  • To teach the practical principles of expository preaching.
  • To teach methods of Bible study.
  • To give the tools for sound interpretation, explanation, exposition, and application of Scripture.

The Program

The school offers a two-year course of expository preaching.  In addition to various homework assignments, there are 4 one-week modules (2 modules per year). This means that students have two full weeks of resident work. During the program, students will take the following classes:

  • 1st Semester: Fundamentals of Expository Preaching (Basics)
  • 2nd Semester: Hermeneutics and Exegesis (Bibliology)
  • 3rd Semester: Hermeneutics and Biblical Genres (Advanced)
  • 4th Semester: Grammar and Preaching Labs (Labs)

The Faculty

Professor Dan Dumas is serving as Executive Pastor, Pastor of Cornerstone Fellowship Group (a ministry to young married and families), Adult and Family ministries, and Conferences at Grace Community Church. Dan graduated from The Master’s Seminary in 2001. His undergraduate work is in Biblical Studies from The Criswell College in Dallas, Texas. Dan has served as College Singles Pastor at the Westside Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida and Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. He is married to his partner in ministry, Jane, and they have one son, Aidan Scott Dumas.

 

Professor Steven Kreloff is the Pastor/Teacher of Lakeside Community Chapel in Clearwater, Florida. The emphasis of his ministry is the expository teaching of the Word of God. Steve is a Jewish Christian who received Jesus as Messiah, Lord, and Savior, while a student at the University of South Florida. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Tampa Bay Theological Seminary. He has been a contributing editor for the magazine “Israel My Glory,” and has written articles for this and other magazines including “Masterpiece.” He has also written two books: “God’s Plan For Israel, A Study of Romans 9-11,” and “Expository Preaching and Teaching” – published in Italian.  He and his wife, Michele, have three children who love and serve Christ.

Professor Jerry Wragg has served as the Pastor-Teacher at Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, Florida since 2001. After four years in the United States Air Force, Jerry worked in the private sector as a counter-intelligence representative. In 1991, he joined The Master’s College as the Dean of Enrollment. Beginning in 1993, he joined the staff of Grace Community Church where he served an Associate Pastor and Personal Assistant to Dr. John MacArthur. During his time in California, he was also a Faculty Associate in Homiletics at the Master’s Seminary, a Christian school board member, and Pastor to Family Ministries. Along with his teaching responsibilities, Jerry serves as Chairman of The Expositors Seminary Board of Directors. Jerry and his wife, Louise, have four grown children and two grandchildren.
